Converting, say, DBZ into live action is generally a bad call for that reason. Though naturally, it has its shortcomings. Crazy coreography and special effects are a lot easier to do when you only have to draw them.
Although (as far as I know) the movie is the original version of the story, and the two versions cover the exact same ground, seeing the same events play out again in live-action form over the course of two hours just wasn't anywhere near as compelling or moving. The story is an adaptation of the novel, The Kouga Ninja Scrolls by Futaro Yamada, which depicts the clash between two ninja clans, Iga Tsubagakure and Kouga Manjidani, and the fated love between Gennosuke (Kouga) and Oboro (Iga). Ive not seen Kenshin yet and I cant wait to see how it goes. The advantage anime has over other media is with fight scenes. 5/10 The manga drew more emotion out of me and held my attention better. Shinobi - Heart Under Blade or Kouga Ninpouchou Basilisk - The Live-Action is a 2005 Japanese ninjutsu romance film directed by Ten Shimoyama and written by Kenya Hirata. Reminds me of the live movie adaptation of Basilisk where some things gets changed but the movie is sitll very much satisfying.
I felt like I should have been crying at the end but all I felt was the weird satisfaction of being right. Basilisk: Kouga Ninpouchou Receives Sequel Series: An official website has opened on Wednesday announcing that the Basilisk series will receive a sequel manga and an accompanying TV anime adaptation titled Basilisk: Ouka Ninpouchou. The Rurouni Kenshin live action movies were pretty good. When I had first made my prediction I had inferred a cheesy ending.an ending that I had laughed at because I had thought, "They wouldn't pull something like that." But the fact is, that ending happened. Speaking of predictions, I had jokingly predicted the actual ending near the beginning on Basilisk and I have to say, I was pissed off. In the end I decided to keep it neutral and just watch the events unfold in front of me, every now and then predicting some future event. I felt no personal connection to any of the characters, besides a bit of pity every now and then but I could not find anyone that I wanted to stick with in terms of a ''favorite character". It surprised me though, because throughout the story of Basilisk, I've probably switched my preferred clan over 30 times, each time thinking to myself, "Hurry up and kill !". In most cases like these, I would have quit somewhere in between but.well, I was bored. I think this is the first time I've actually finished a manga/anime without caring for the fate of any of the characters.
